Quickstart Guides
Google Classroom
This is a guide I created for educators to use Google Classroom. I used Atlassian Confluence to create the document. The goal of this document is to prioritize explanations for why the educator is using Google Classroom in the first place. Understanding the UI and Posting materials/organizing by subject takes priority for this type of end user.
Google Maps
This is a guide for how to use the primary function of Google Maps on Android. The goal of this guide is to help a user who is unfamiliar with mobile UI to navigate to their desired location. It teaches them how to search, find the correct location, view details about the location (contact info, website, etc), and navigate them to their location with the correct mode of transportation.

Screen
Protector
Application
I was inspired to create a visual guide with simple line art after seeing so many phones in public which had botched screen protector jobs. After a quick worldwide Google Trends search, I found that there were plenty of people who searched for how to apply a screen protector (and even nearby services to apply!) This could possibly point to the fact that there are either no instructions provided with those products or they were judged by the user to not be good enough!
Hairstyle Guide
This one is a guide I decided to make for fun following the numerous questions I’ve received about how I style my hair, or what the process is like. I wrote with a humourous tone.
Despite the nature of the writing in this user guide, it’s actually part of the bigger picture for why I was drawn to technical writing. I remember reading a quickstart guide (link) for an electrical power bar, just out of curiosity. The writer of that guide wrote incredibly sarcastically and it actually prompted some laughs while reading. In this case, had it not been for how entertaining the writing was I wouldn’t have read the guide in the first place.

School Budget Form Guide
Filling out forms correctly is never easy, especially when it comes to budgeting. This is a sample guide to submit an annual school budget.
